There were several issues along the way, technological, economic and legal, that have thwarted the country’s prospects of becoming a key player in extracting shale gas.

This may appear like a missed opportunity, yet new ways of shale gas production, coupled with a freer legal framework for investors, could reshape the Polish gas sector.
