If the new Polish hub is launched, it will be massive competition for the unfinished Willy Brandt Berlin-Brandenburg Airport (BER) near the German capital, Czaja has told Germany’s B.Z. daily in an interview.

Poland’s mega-airport is expected to be one of the largest transfer hubs in Europe and handle up to 45 million passengers annually, with a possible expansion in the future to 100 million. It is due to be completed by the end of 2027.

To find out more, Michał Owczarek talks to Adrian Kubicki, a spokeman for the state-owned Polish Aviation Group, a new consortium led by the national airline LOT that has been set up to more effectively compete with global rivals.
