Sławek Szefs reports that its main objective is to encourage and assist residents of large cities to invest in modern heating systems to substitute the often dilapidated coal furnaces in their homes which contribute substantially to high levels of smog.
"We are slowly approaching the stage of equal prices for gas and coal fuels. Thanks to this, the interest in gas heating for homes is on the rise," said Krzysztof Tchórzewski, Poland’s energy minister, at a conference inaugurating the program.
