Wrocław launches year as European Capital of Culture

The city of Wrocław officially starts its year as a European Capital of Culture on Friday.

The city in western Poland will celebrate the launch for three days.
“The story that we have developed in the past couple of years is the idea of four spirits of Wroclaw waking up at four o’clock on the 17th of January,” said Christopher Baldwin, the performance curator of the Wroclaw ECC 2016.
Wroclaw shares the honour of being a European Capital of Culture this year with the Spanish city of San Sebastian.
