Penderecki starts work on a new opera
For one of the world’s most renowned composers, Krzysztof Penderecki, 2015 has been a good year, with the premiere of the Trumpet Concerto and of a polonaise for the opening of the Chopin Competition.

As every year, he starts writing a new piece around Christmas. In an exclusive interview for the English Service, he says: “This time, I begin my new opera, to be performed in the Vienna State Opera in perhaps three years from now.”
