The end of Europe?

Warsaw has seen the premiere of “The Great European Disaster”, a film produced and directed by the Italian journalist Annalisa Piras, addressing the very real possibility of the European Union disintegrating in the near future.
The premiere of the hybrid documentary in Central and Eastern Europe was held at Warsaw’s Royal Łazienki Park.
Following the screening, a debate was held discussing the importance of the EU for Europe and Poland, specifically.
“You need both. You need the idea of values but you also need people to be pragmatic and to think, are we really sure that sleep walking towards a possible disintegration of this corporation system will make us better,” said Piras.
“Can we stop and think and maybe be a bit afraid of the return of nationalism, the return of competition in countries, and the total end of solidarity.”
