The deputy PM of the unrecognised pro-Russian Crimean government unexpectedly arrived in Warsaw on Wednesday to speak at an OSCE human rights conference.
As Sławek Szefs reports, Dmitri Polonsky's presence and subject matter of his address have been received by many observers as a provocation orchestrated by the Kremlin.
International affairs expert Jarosław Guzy notes that although the situation on the Ukrainian eastern front appears to have calmed down with Russia's increased involvement in Syria, Moscow's propaganda efforts continue unabated.
“It's like laughing in the face of the West saying: we're doing what we want, traveling to your capitals, and you have to accept it,” Guzy told Polish Radio.
