Amnesty International is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its activity in Poland.

The Polish branch, although officially registered in June 1990, had been clandestinely active long before this, still in Communist times. In 2001 it initiated a Letter Writing Marathon which soon grew to be a major human rights initiative world-wide.
On the occasion of the anniversary Michał Owczarek spoke to the director of the Polish branch, Draginja Nadażdin, with a focus on local efforts, problems and achievements.
“In the context [of the anniversary] there is this reflection that our work brings really concrete results, but at the same time our work never ends,” Nadażdin said.
