The EU’s foreign affairs council has added another 15 Russians and pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine to its sanctions black list. The new additions include Russia’s deputy prime minister Dmitry Kozak, chief of the Russian General Staff General Valery Gerasimov, and pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukrainian cities such as Lugansk and Donetsk.

As John Beauchamp reports, the move comes as NATO general Adrian Bradshaw was in Poland to discuss security matters in the region and the same day which saw the arrival of French fighter jets to Poland.

“The consensus in NATO is absolutely rock-solid about our responsibilities for collective defence,” said NATO’s Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Sir Adrian Bradshaw, who met with General Chief of Staff Mieczysław Gocuł to discuss the situation with regards to Ukraine as well as regional security.
