Prominent classical music conductor Andrey Boreyko, from a mixed Polish-Russian family, says he hopes the crisis in Ukraine can be solved peacefully.
"I am fully supporting the Ukrainian people now. I hope that there will be no war and that politicians will find a way to talk to each other," he tells our reporter Michal Kubicki.
Forty seven year-old Boreyko served as Music Director of the Poznan Symphony Orchestra in the 1990s and is now Music Director of the National Orchestra of Belgium.
On Saturday, 12 April, he conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra in London in the world premiere of the Fourth Symphony by the Polish composer Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki.
