According to energy experts, the recent developments in Poland's energy sector show a general confusion within the government over energy policy.

Last month, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the creation of a special government energy team composed of "all the ministers who have a say on energy issues in Poland." The group is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Janusz Piechociński, who is also economy minister.

Piechociński says the recent controversies surrounding the Yamal memorandum, which is one of the topics up for discussion today, was not in Poland's best interests.

"The recent developments have clearly shown that we need more joint efforts, cohesion and a common stand not only in our relations between the world of economy and politics, especially in the case of state-controlled companies, but also on the international arena," said Piechociński, reports Danuta Isler in Warsaw.
