As has been customary for the past six years, Poland's commitment to the WWF initiative known as the Earth Hour takes place this weekend. On Saturday evening, the lights will go off in Warsaw's landmarks, such as the Palace of Culture (PKiN) and Royal Castle, as well as in hotels, shopping malls, and private homes. This year, 59 other Polish cities around the country have pledged their support, too.

This is the as a symbolic gesture of the nation's commitment to the WWF initiative known as the Earth Hour. According to the organisers, Warsaw is one of 5,200 cities from 320 different countries to patricipate in the event this year.

Danuta Isler spoke with Anna Zatońska from WWF Polska about the details of this year's event.
