German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk attended the Polish exhibition, which staged an impressive central area display covering 3,000 square meters.

"We are a co-host, hence our sizeable presence of over 200 enterprises compared to 74 last year. The progress is meaningful. We'll be promoting purely Polish solutions," said government spokesman Pawel Gras.

Almost 4,000 firms from around 70 different countries are taking part in CeBIT 2013. The fair consists of four self-explanatory thematic groups, or platforms: PRO, GOV, LIFE and LAB.
