Poles line up for World Judo Junior Championships

Eleven Poles are due to take part in the the World Judo Junior Championships, which begin on Thursday in Cape Town, South Africa.
The Polish team, coached by Piotr Sadowski and Joanna Majdan, counts seven male contestants and four females.
Among the brightest hopes for Poland is Lukasz Kielbasinski, who won a bronze model at the 2009 edition of the event in Paris.
The 19-year-old, who is a member of Warsaw's “Rys” club, is aiming to improve on his Paris performance this week, although he has now moved up from the 55 kg to the 60 kg bracket.
Japanese contestants dominated the 2010 Championships in Morocco, winning nine gold medals in fourteen categories.
This year's tournament runs until 6 November. (nh/pg)
