Ukraine's Anton Davydenko and Mykola Prostorov won silver, and the bronze went to the French pair of Allan Morante and Sébastien Martiny.

A total of 151 Polish athletes, 80 men and 71 women, have been selected to compete in the 2nd European Games, which began on Friday and are being held in Minsk until June 30.

More than 4,000 athletes from 50 countries are vying for 200 sets of medals in 23 sports during the event, which provides a gateway to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for European athletes.

Poland won 20 medals, two gold, eight silver and 10 bronze, in the 1st European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, in 2015.

The southern Polish city of Kraków has been confirmed as the host of the 3rd European Games in 2023.
