Rising Polish tennis star to move up in rankings

Rising Polish tennis star Iga Świątek is expected to move up in the rankings after her strongest ever performance in a Grand Slam tournament, according to a news website.

After reaching the fourth round of the French Open, Świątek is expected to move up 40 positions in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking, the onet.pl news website reported on Monday.
Świątek was on Monday dispatched 1-6, 0-6 by third-seeded Romanian Simona Halep, the defending French Open champion. The match ended in 45 minutes.
Halep last week eliminated Poland’s world No. 87 Magda Linette in the second round of the women's singles at the Paris tournament.
Świątek, who turned 18 on Friday, is currently ranked world No. 104.
