                    Rising Polish tennis star Iga Świątek has advanced to the third round of the French Open after beating 16th-seeded Qiang Wang of China 6-3, 6-0 on Thursday.

                         The Pole, who turns 18 on Friday, will next take on the winner of a match between Puerto Rico’s Monica Puig and Russia’s Daria Kasatkina.
Świątek, ranked world No. 104 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), moved into the second round of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris with a straight-set 6-3, 6-0 win on Tuesday against France's Selena Janicijevic.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz was eliminated by Serbian world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the first round of the men’s singles.
