The Polish goal machine found the back of the net from a header in the 27th minute of the game, adding to his tally as the highest-scoring foreign player of all time in Germany’s Bundesliga top-flight football league.
Lewandowski has scored 22 goals in the Bundesliga this season and comfortably leads the table among the division’s top scorers.
The 30-year-old, who also captains Poland’s national squad, was in May last year crowned the Bundesliga's top scorer for the 2017/2018 season, his third such trophy since he began playing in Germany in 2010.
