Up next for the 27-year-old Polish player in the women’s singles competition at Indian Wells was Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands, who had a bye in the first round.
Linette is ranked world No. 92 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
Meanwhile, rising Polish tennis star Iga Świątek has failed to make it through to the main draw of the women’s singles at the USD 9 million tournament in the California desert.
