PM praises Polish track-and-fielders, cyclist for medals

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has praised Poland's track-and-field team and a track cyclist for winning medals at international sports events over the weekend.

At a meeting at his Prime Minister’s Office in Warsaw on Monday, Morawiecki, accompanied by Sports Minister Witold Bańka, thanked the athletes for promoting the country internationally.

With a total of seven medals, five gold and two silver, Poland topped the overall medals table at the European Indoor Athletics Championships, which ended in Glasgow on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Poland’s Mateusz Rudyk won a historic bronze for his country in the men's sprint at the Track Cycling World Championships in Pruszków near Warsaw on Sunday.
