Fans were celebrating a set of strong results by Poles, including fourth place for Piotr Żyła and sixth for Jakub Wolny. Russia’s Evgeniy Klimov came second.

The performance by Stoch, a three-time Olympic champion and the winner of last year’s World Cup, saw him taking the No. 1 spot in the overall World Cup ski-flying standings this season.

On Friday in Oberstdorf, Kubacki came second while Stoch finished fifth.

Meanwhile, on Saturday Żyła finished fourth and Stoch was sixth.
