Aficionados of the Korean martial art will battle it out over two days at the Polish capital’s Torwar sports arena. The competition kicks off on Saturday morning.

Tomasz Pyciarz, the tournament’s sports director, said: "The Poles are putting forward a strong line-up headed by European championship medallists Karol Hołubowicz and Patrycja Adamkiewicz, which is why we’re looking to win a string of golds.”

The Polish Open & Warsaw Cup has developed over the years from a local competition into an international tournament, attracting taekwondo talent from around the world, the organisers said on their website.
