Another swimming medal for Poland in Copenhagen

Poland’s Alicja Tchórz has won a silver medal in the women’s 50m backstroke at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Tchórz clocked a time of 26.09 in Saturday’s final, finishing just behind Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu, a triple Olympic champion from Rio, who grabbed the gold with 25.95. The bronze went to the Netherlands’ Maaike de Waard, who touched the wall in 26.40.
This was Poland’s third medal of the Copenhagen event, which began on Wednesday.
Earlier Radosław Kawęcki won the silver in the men’s 200m backstroke, and Poland also took the bronze in the men’s 4x50m freestyle relay.
On Sunday, the last day of the event, Poland’s Konrad Czerniak, a multiple world championship medallist, was set to compete in the men’s 100 m freestyle. He made the final with the fifth-best time of 46.99.
