Williams has reportedly placed Kubica on its list of potential drivers for the 2018 season.

British driver Paul di Resta, Brazilian veteran Felipe Massa and Germany's Pascal Wehrlein are all being considered by Williams, alongside Kubica, according to reports.

The motorsport.com website said Kubica was due to take part in two training sessions at two different circuits later this month: at Silverstone on 11 October and at Hungaroring five days later.

In early August, Kubica had a test session with Renault.

Renault team managers said at the time that Kubica's Hungaroring test session was designed to evaluate his chance of a potential comeback next year.

The Polish driver competed for Renault in Formula One in 2010, scoring three podiums in his season with the French manufacturer before an injury in a rallying crash in 2011 forced him to put his F1 career on hold. (gs/pk)
