Pole takes bronze at European Weightlifting Championship

Poland's Krzysztof Zwarycz has won a bronze medal at the European Weightlifting Championships with a combined lift of 358 kg in the 85 kg competition.

Ukraine's Oleksandr Pielieshenko defended his 2016 title with a 386 kg combined lift, ahead of silver medallist Artem Okulov of Russia who lifted a total of 377 kg at the competition in Split, in eastern Croatia.
Zwarycz's medal is Poland's second time on the podium at the event in Split. On Monday, Joanna Łochowska won gold for her 192 kg combined lift in the women's 53 kg competition. (vb/pk)
