As a measure of how in demand the 25-year-old player is, his get-out clause, which previously insisted on EUR 30 million from rival bidders, has risen now to EUR 45 million.

He has been with the Spanish club since 2014, and he debuted for the Polish national side in 2008.

Sevilla managed to retain the Europa League title this year, and his skill on the pitch prompted Sky Sports to include the Pole in their 'La Liga' dreamteam, drawing together the outstanding players of Spain's top football league.

It has been reported that English clubs Arsenal and Manchester City are both interested in the Polish player.

Sevilla noted on its website on Thursday that since joining the club, Krychowiak has shown an absolute commitment to Sevilla FC”, and that he has been swift in picking up the Spanish language.

The club described him as instrumental” in winning the Europa League. (nh/rk)
