Bayern Munich's player is to be recognised for scoring five goals against Wolfsburg in nine minutes in the German Bundesliga on 22 September in Munich, securing a 5:1 victory for his team.

Overall, Lewandowski has been nominated in several categories in the Guinness Book: for scoring three, four and five shots in record-short time, alongside being the only bench-warmer in history to manage five goals in a single match.

Robert Lewandowski made his mark at the Euro 2016 qualifying match on Sunday, scoring the decisive goal for the Polish team against Ireland (2:1), thus paving the way to the tournament in Paris next summer. The shoot was the latest in a series of scored goals, totaling 13 throughout the Euro qualifiers. (aba/rk)
