Lech Poznań eye Champions League third round berth

League champions Lech Poznań beat FK Sarajevo 2:0 on Tuesday night in the Bosnian capital.

Lech now have one foot in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, with the second leg in Poland in two weeks.
The goals were scored by Kasper Hamalainen and Denis Thomalla.
“The Polish champions have shown that they are in good shape for several months. In Sarajevo, they played cleverly and effectively,” Maciej Murawski, a former Poland international, told the nc+ sports channel.
Twenty-seven people, including nine police officers, were injured in Sarajevo after clashes between supporters of FK Sarajevo and Lech Poznan before their Champions League qualifier. (jh)
