Quad-rider Rafał Sonik has stressed that luck plays a ''significant role'' in off-road racing, after winning Qatar's Sealine Cross Country Rally for a third time.

Sonik who wrapped up the rally on Friday, dedicated the victory to Poland's men's handball team, who won the bronze medal in Qatar in January's World Championship.
''I won here in 2012 and 2013,'' Sonik reflected in an interview with Polish Radio.
''In the first stage of the last one, winds carried away my time card, for which I got a five-minute penalty.
''That loss turned out to be decisive.
''You cannot justify success or failure by luck alone, but as you can see it plays a very significant role.''
Sonik was not the only Pole to finish with a respectable result. In the car category, Marek Dąbrowski and Jacek Czachor ended in 5th place, while Adam Małysz and Rafał Marton were just behind in 6th. Jakub Piątek is coming 9th in the motorbike category. (nh)
