Ogrodnik set off at midnight on Saturday from the English port of Dover, finally reaching Calais at 8.33 pm on Sunday.
The Pole had to contend with seagulls, jellyfish, changing currents and in the end, crushing fatigue to complete the second leg of the so-called 'Peak and Pond' challenge.
The former commando from Wroclaw, south west Poland, has been pushing himself to the limits for many years now.
Among his previous accomplishments is diving to a depth of 163m in the famed Blue Hole in the Red Sea.
He also swam together with his son across the Straits of Gibraltar from the Spanish coastal town of Tarifa to Morocco. (nh)
