Barca to play Lechia Gdansk in delayed 'Super Match'

Lechia Gdansk finally get a chance to meet the mighty FC Barcelona at the PGE Stadium in Gdansk, Tuesday evening, after the original date for the match on 20 July was cancelled due to the recurrence of coach Tito Vilanova’s throat cancer.
Thousand’s of fans were left disappointed on 20 July, when Barcelona players said they were too upset to travel to Gdansk for the match, after Tito Vilanova said he would be standing down as team coach on health grounds.
Lechia Gdansk had been billing the game as a “Super Match’ though for Barca players this is merely a pre-season friendly in preparation for the beginning of the 2013/14 season.
New coach Gerardo Martino will lead out Lionel Messi and recent acquisition Neymar from Brazil tonight, but most of the club’s stars, including Victor Valdes, Xavier "Xavi" Hernández, Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets will not be on show. (pg)
