Robert Lewandowski's Manchester United transfer remains unclear, with a German tabloid now claiming that the striker has been offered a 5 million euro a season salary to move to Old Trafford.

According to the Bild newspaper, Thursday morning, the Polish international is about to accept a deal with Manchester United, which will involve a transfer fee of 22 million euro on a five year contract.
The report comes after Lewandowski, who transferred to Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund from Lech Poznan for 4.5 million euros in 2010, denied previous reports that the deal had been finalised on his Facebook page.
“I know nothing about it,” he wrote after goal.com announced that terms between Old Trafford and the German club had been agreed.
If the transfer does actually take place – and the reports in Bild this morning are unclear whether the move would take place during the January transfer window or at the end of the 2012/2013 season - Lewandowski, who has scored 15 goals this season in all competitions, would follow in the footsteps of Japanese forward Shinji Kagawa, who left Dortmund for Manchester last summer.
