The chairman of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) wants Warsaw to be a co-host of the Euro 2020 tournament, which is scheduled to take place across Europe.

Breaking with tradition, Uefa announced on Thursday that the new look tournament will be a collective endeavour, as opposed to being held by just one or two countries.
Zbigniew Boniek, the recently elected chairman of PZPN, told Polish Radio that he already knew about the decision several days before Uefa made the announcement.
“I'm endorsing this idea with both thumbs up,” he said.
“We believe that our capital should apply [to be one of the host cities],” he affirmed.
Nevertheless, Boniek noted that talks with Uefa must be held, owing to the fact that Poland co-hosted Euro 2012 with Ukraine, “and we don't even know whether we are eligible.”
Uefa president Michel Platini first floated the idea this summer, and he has argued that a collective Euro tournament is a more sensible concept in times of economic uncertainly, given the hefty financial burden typically placed on one or two countries.
Decisions on venues will not be made until the spring of 2014. (nh)
