The visit, at the invitation of the Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Ali Larijani, was of mostly political character but there was plenty of economy talk. "We are glad that a high-ranking delegation is visiting Iran to boost its cooperation with our country through investing in such areas as oil, natural gas as well as ship and railroad cars building industries," Mr. Larijani said welcoming the Polish delegation.

It also came a few months after the historic nuclear deal reached in the summer between the world powers and Iran which is to end decades of Iran’s isolation on the international arena and to open the market of eighty million potential consumers to the western world. Poland's Ambassador to Iran, Janusz Gojło cautions against a rush reiterating that sanctions will remain in place until Iran fully complies with the July nuclear agreement.

"Poland is of course trying to keep up the pace with the others although we are in a little bit different position than the others because Poland does not have a proper brand established here. We are still working on this" Ambassador Gojło told Danuta Isler in Tehran.
