“No one will be able to buy me off. I swear it,” Paweł Kukiz said, just minutes after the close of voting on Sunday.

According to the exit poll, Kukiz got 20.3 percent of the vote, coming in third after Law and Justice (PiS) candidate Andrzej Duda (34.8 percent) and current President Bronisław Komorowski (32.2 percent).

Paweł Kukiz told the Poznań-based Radio Merkury that he would not support Komorowski in the second round.

“If I don’t move on to the second round, I will certainly not urge people to vote for someone who would strengthen the omnipotence of Civic Platform,” Kukiz told the radio on Monday.

Although President Komorowski ran as an independent candidate in the 2015 elections, he is a former Civic Platform (PO) MP, and was supported by the party.

“I’ll take the votes from the President, and will happily do so. I would never vote for Komorowski, because his presidency has very negative consequences,” Kukiz told Radio Merkury.

The second round of the presidential election, between Andrzej Duda and Bronisław Komorowski will take place on 24 May. (rg)
