Turkish PM receives Polish business award

Former Polish PM Hanna Suchocka and Turkey's PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan received awards by Poland's business community on Saturday.

The BCC awards are given to personalities from outside the business circuit who contribute to the development of entrepreneurship and the market economy.

On behalf of the Turkish PM, the award was received by deputy PM Ali Babacan.

Hanna Suchocka, a prime minister in the early 1990s and who went on to be Poland's Ambassador to the Vatican, received the prize for restoring financial stability to the Polish economy in the time of transformations, putting Poland on the fast track for development, as well as carrying out long-term structural reforms and maintaining excellent relations with the Holy See.

PM Erdogan was awarded for his systematic effort to clear barriers on the way to economic growth, striving to build democracy and free market relations, and his part in the reforms that have gained the name of the Quiet Revolution, and also excellent relations and friendship with Poland and Poles.
