Poland comes in third place globally in terms of automotive LPG installations, following Turkey and South Korea.

“The market is doing well because of high oil prices,” Jozef Tyborowski, deputy chairman of AC, a leading manufacturer of LPG installations in Poland told the Puls Biznesu daily.

“Clients used to decide on whether to buy a diesel or petrol car, but now they often decide to convert to LPG straight away,” Tyborowski continues.

While LPG units have become commonplace in ‘standard class’ passenger vehicles, more and more owners of luxury and sports cars also opting for gas.

“Autogas has stopped being a fuel for poorer motorists,” says Janusz Koliba, general director of Czakram, an LPG installation specialist in the country. (jb)
