Wages, employment up y/y in Poland in May: stats office

Average wages in Poland rose 7.7 percent in May compared with the same month last year, the country’s Central Statistical Office said on Wednesday.

The average gross Polish monthly wage in May was PLN 5,057.82 (EUR 1,187, USD 1,330), the office reported.
Meanwhile, employment in Polish companies increased 2.7 percent last month on average in year-on-year terms to 6.38 million, according to the statistical office.
The figures are for firms with more than nine employees.
The Polish economy grew 4.7 percent in the first quarter of this year, the Central Statistical Office said in a final estimate at the end of last month.
