The reading was in line with an earlier estimate by the country’s labour minister.

There were around 938,300 people without jobs at the end of April, down from 984,700 a month earlier, according to the Central Statistical Office.

Labour and Social Policy Minister Elżbieta Rafalska said last month that Poland’s jobless rate was expected to slide to 5.2 percent in September and to stand at 5.5 percent at the end of the year.
