Wages, employment up y/y in Poland in April: stats office

Average wages in Poland rose 7.1 percent in April compared with the same month last year, the country’s Central Statistical Office said on Tuesday.

The average gross Polish monthly wage in April was PLN 5,186.12 (EUR 1,205, USD 1,344), the office reported.
Meanwhile, employment in Polish companies increased 2.9 percent last month in year-on-year terms, according to the statistical office.
The figures are for firms with more than nine employees.
The Polish economy grew 4.6 percent in the first quarter of this year, the Central Statistical Office said in a flash estimate last week.
