Fitch affirms Poland's A- rating, stable outlook

International ratings agency Fitch has affirmed Poland's A- credit rating with a stable outlook.

Fitch, one of the world’s "Big Three" credit rating agencies, on Friday cited Poland's “diversified economy and strong macroeconomic fundamentals, supported by a sound economic policy framework, and strong banking sector.”
The agency noted that “Poland outperformed its fiscal targets in 2018, with the general government balance improving to -0.5% of GDP against a budget target of -2% …”
Ratings agency S&P Global in October upgraded Poland's credit rating from BBB+ to A-, while describing the country's outlook as “stable.”
