Polish retail sales up 6.5% y/y in February: stats office

Retail sales in Poland rose 6.5 percent in February compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Thursday.

Sales of household appliances and consumer electronics climbed 14.3 percent in year-on-year terms, while sales of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics rose 9.7 percent.
Sales of fuels increased by 6.9 percent.
In real terms, retail sales in February were 5.6 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier, according to the statistics office.
In month-on-month terms, retail sales in February were 3.1 percent lower than in January, the Central Statistical Office reported.
