The reading was in line with expectations by analysts, Poland's PAP news agency reported.

The country's investment and development minister said this month that Poland was one of the fastest-growing economies in the 28-nation European Union.

In 2017, Poland’s gross domestic product expanded by 4.8 percent, according to the Central Statistical Office.

Polish senators this month approved the country’s budget for 2019, which expects the economy to grow 3.8 percent, with inflation targeted at 2.3 percent.
