The Puls Biznesu daily has quoted a report by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, which ranked Poland 17th among 25 European Union countries in terms of the age of cars on the country’s roads.

The average car in Poland is 13 years old, which is one of the highest numbers in the bloc, according to the paper.

However, Puls Biznesu also reported that the average age of cars plying the country’s roads has decreased by five years since 2017.

One in six cars registered in Poland in 2018 was new, but only 28 percent of new cars were bought by private customers, while most were purchased by companies operating in the country.

The newspaper added that imports of used cars to Poland grew by 7 percent in year-on-year terms, with 865,000 such vehicles brought into the country in 2018.
