Polish inflation at 1.7 percent in October: flash estimate

Inflation in Poland stood at 1.7 percent in year-on-year terms in October, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Wednesday in a flash estimate.

In September, the prices of consumer goods and services in Poland were 1.9 percent higher than in the same month last year.
Inflation in August stood at 2 percent year on year, unchanged from June and July.
Inflation in May was at 1.7 percent, at 1.6 percent year on year in April, while the March figure was 1.3 percent.
Inflation in February stood at 1.4 percent in year-on-year terms, while the January reading was 1.9 percent.
In December last year, the prices of consumer goods and services in Poland rose 2.1 percent compared with the same month a year earlier.
Poland’s government last month approved a budget for 2019 that expects the economy to grow a healthy 3.8 percent, with inflation targeted at 2.3 percent.
