Polish jobless rate second-lowest in EU: Eurostat

Unemployment in Poland stood at 3.4 percent in August, the second-lowest rate in the 28-member European Union, the bloc’s statistics agency has said.

Poland’s jobless rate equalled that recorded in Germany, according to Eurostat.
In July, unemployment in Poland was 3.5 percent, the agency said.
The Czech Republic recorded the lowest unemployment rate in the EU in August, at 2.5 percent.
Meanwhile, Greece had the bloc's highest jobless rate, at 19 percent.
The EU average in August remained unchanged from July, standing at 6.8 percent.
Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS), which uses a different methodology, reported last month that Polish joblessness stood at 5.8 percent in August, down from 5.9 percent in July.
