Soaring number of work permits issued in Poland

In 2012, around 39,100 work permits were issued to foreign workers in the country, the Rzeczpospolita daily reported.

An increasing number of permits are being issued in all of Poland's provinces, according to the daily.

Most of the documents are granted to Ukrainian nationals.

Twenty-one percent of Polish employers say they hire Ukrainian workers, a study has found.

Around 25,000 people in India are waiting for Polish visas with work permits as Poland opens its doors wider to foreign labour, according to news reports.
