Speaking on Sunday at a civic centre in Katowice, the capital of Poland’s southern coal mining hub, Morawiecki said that public debt was growing at the lowest rate in history.
He added that 2017 saw public debt decline for the first time in 30 years.
He also said that unemployment was at its lowest in 30 years and that economic growth was about as fast as it has ever been.
“Rating agencies are reclassifying Poland … We are crossing the symbolic boundary from a developing market to a developed market,” Morawiecki said.
He added that Poland’s economic model was successful because it was based on fairness.
“I want to say clearly, that our great crackdown on tax fraud, which we have been carrying out successfully since 2016, has led to this small economic miracle, because suddenly there are some PLN 40-50 billion (EUR 9.2-11.2 billion) extra funds in our economic system,” Morawiecki said.
