Meanwhile, the number of people who feel safe shopping online nearly doubled over the past year, the researcher said. Twenty-six percent of respondents considered e-commerce completely safe, up from 14 percent in 2017.

About a third of online shoppers paid using, quick money transfers, regular money transfers, and card payments, while 22 percent opted for card payments on delivery and 26 percent said they preferred money transfers via BLIK, a Polish mobile payment system.

Jacek Kiniecki, sales and marketing manager with internet services company Przelewy24, told the Rzeczpospolita daily: “As you can see Polish consumers are open to e-commerce novelty, so implementing cutting-edge services automatizing and streamlining e-transactions is a must-have for all [commercial] websites.”

“The e-commerce market is developing rapidly and customers’ requirements are continuously growing, also in the sphere of quick and convenient money transfers,” he added, according to the paper.

Nearly 28 million people out of Poland’s 38 million-strong population use the Internet, the researcher said.
