The bridges will cost PLN 2.3 billion (EUR 536m, USD 633m) in total, state broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Morawiecki said that for the last 25 years Poland had not had balanced development, with large urban areas growing faster than smaller towns.
“Over recent years, large conurbations have been growing faster. We want to create development opportunities for smaller [towns], where bridges are particularly needed," Morawiecki told reporters.
Funds will be allocated this year for drawing up bridge designs, while money will be earmarked over the next several years for starting construction, IAR reported.
